Lieve lezer! Simone | Dear reader! Today the the second collage (in the family of four). This is so much fun to do. See the blog yesterday for the way Jane Davies addresses this. Tonight I suddenly had an idea, why yesterdays collage was bothering me, at least the white bar in the middle. Suddenly it occurred to me that perhaps the contrast between 'white' and the rest is too large. In other words, imagine that you'd see it in 'grayscale', then it would not be too contrasty. I tried it out immediately. For the results, see the blog yesterday (for the sake of clarity, I stuck it down there). And indeed... And while we're at it: here 'grayscale' from those of today. That looks for me a lot more balanced than that of yesterday. Quite interesting, that working in grayscale. Again inspired by Jane Davies. Look here for a blog post of her hand on that subject. Have a nice day! Simone |

Simone, I am so grateful to have your energy, paintings, and discussions firing up my energy! Loved today's discussion about grayscale. Will you do anything to change yesterday's collage?

Your comment about paying attention to when a painting/collage 'clicks' in your head resonates with me. I attend to that click myself more than any metacognitive set of guidelines. I look forward to seeing what you might do with this painting.
