I had my 46th birthday last saturday and as a present I got two bottles of paint from my children: one orange and one turquoise.
And of course I experimented with them today!
I like the complementary colours that seem to jump off the page.
And now: the fun part starts ;-)
Playing in the sketchbook:
I tried the colours now the other way around. Turquoise at the background, and orange/red in the forefront.
Not so easy: I had to paint more layers of red/orange to get them brilliant. Maybe they are quite transparant: when the blue shines through the colours stay a bit muddy (even though I dried the paint well in between layers).
But I like the result.
And it's nice to try out the 'colour fields'.
And experimenting with the white/black contrast.
And my potato stamps!
Okay. And here the second trial of today.
Again on a blue/green backgroud, but now freely drawing shapes and painting, without any idea or concepts....
Like how the green and turquoise go together!
Thank you for visiting and good luck with your own painting!
