I like working in series, so that I can explore an idea or a color palette, or a kind of composition, or certain marks more deeply.
The backside is that I am sometimes feel that I have to 'live up' to the one before.
I'm learning a lot about how painting works for me.
Below the sketchbook.
It is remarkable (and maybe not so surprisingly) that working in the sketchbook is so much easier. (And I often like the results more)...
Maybe because I just try things out and do not worry about screwing it up (it's a sketchbook anyway)
I hope to grow in such a way, that I always will paint like I am working in my sketchbook.
